The Ryan White Program: The Ryan White Program is a federally funded initiative designed to provide comprehensive support to individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Established in honor of Ryan White, a teenager who faced discrimination due to his HIV status, the program aims to ensure that those affected by HIV/AIDS receive the necessary medical care and support, regardless of their financial circumstances. Covering a range of services from medical care to housing assistance, the Ryan White Program plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for its beneficiaries and bridging the gap in HIV care across the nation.
PrEP (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis): PrEP, or Pre-exposure Prophylaxis, is a preventive measure for individuals who are at high risk of contracting HIV. It involves taking a daily medication that significantly reduces the risk of HIV infection. When taken consistently and correctly, PrEP can decrease the risk of HIV transmission through sexual contact by about 99%. It serves as a powerful tool in the fight against HIV, especially when combined with other preventive methods like condoms. FHC Pharmacy is closed-door pharmacy, which provides prescription drugs to our health center patients only. The prescriptions can be picked up at our main clinic located in Laurel, MS. FHC also has courier service to our Sandersville, Taylorsville, and Waynesboro Clinics.
